Since 2010 the Great Basin LCC has supported more than 45 Science and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (S-TEK) projects. These projects provide valuable information to managers on conservation of natural and cultural resources—addressing diverse management questions related to invasive plants, resilience and resistance, wetland mapping, and tribal dimensions of climate change. Products from these projects include reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, geospatial analyses, workshops and are created for audiences that include federal, state and local resource managers, tribes, researchers, ranchers, and general audiences concerned with conservation.
Within this gallery you'll find links to many of our S-TEK projects and their associated products. Because our Conservation Planning Atlas is geared toward best available science, you will not find projects that are in progress here. There are also projects omitted here because their products contain sensitive information. However, for information about all of our supported research
visit our website.Developed by GBLCC in 2015, the Science and Traditional Ecological Knowledge Strategic Plan both steers our research topics and outlines our process for selecting projects. To learn more about the S-TEK Strategic Plan you can
