The Great Basin—including the northern and central Basin and Range and Snake River Plain—is represents a diverse assemblage of ecosystem types including salt-desert shrub, sagebrush steppe, pinyon-juniper woodland, mountain mahogany woodland, aspen woodland, riparian and wetland, montane forest, and alpine systems.
These vegetation zones are habitat for a variety of wildlife species. This gallery collects datasets with information on fish, bird, reptile, amphibian and other wildlife species distributions; flora species distributions, and ecosystem extent. Connectivity and resilience and resistance datasets can be found in the Landscape Resiliency gallery.
